A Whole New Look
That special time of year is fast approaching, and it’s never too early to start sprucing up the place with a whole new look.
No, I’m not talking about decorating your house for the Holidays … I’m talking about freshening up your exhibit for your next trade show!
When your target audience approaches your exhibit, the look and feel of your booth is often their first impression of your company and brand; and as we all know, first impressions are often lasting impressions. Even if you have an exciting new message or product to announce, your same-as-last-year booth may be under-cutting your marketing efforts … and your investment.
The good news is there are several easy ways to give your exhibit a fresh, vibrant new look without breaking the bank. When you do, you’re guaranteed to turn a few heads at your next event.
Print out a new graphic skin for your hanging sign structures and backwalls.
This may sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many companies get so used to their large signage and backwalls that they forget all about them. However, a newly printed and designed hanging sign or backwall is like placing your exhibit into an entirely new setting. And the best part is, all of the other structures in your exhibit will take on a fresh, new look as well.
Carpet
Anyone who has ever had new carpet installed in their home will attest at how much it changes the appearance and mood of a room, even if the furniture and wall hangings remain the same. For your next event, pick out a different color from your corporate style guide and place your exhibit on a whole new foundation.
Update your graphic banners
If you haven’t already, you may want to invest in high-quality retractable banner stands that not only have a lifetime warranty, but also enable you to quickly and easily change out your signage for each show. You could highlight a new product, announce some new features and benefits, or even offer a special new promotion designed just for that event.
Use Plexiglas gallery graphics for walls with stand offs.
Why? So you can easily swap out the graphics! Again, it’s all about the graphics because, be honest, when was the last time you walked away from an exhibit and remembered the exhibit structure? That’s right, never. What you DO remember is the signage, the messaging, and the interaction with the exhibitor’s booth staff (but that’s a discussion for another blog post!). The idea here is to make sure that all of your graphic structure choices are not just sturdy, light, and easily transportable, but also easily updatable so you can mix it up for every show.
Use LED backlit displays
The lighting on a show floor can sometimes be spotty and drab. Subsequently, you may have areas of your exhibit that are little lifeless. However, if you were to use LED backlighting for your graphics, then your signage and messages will always pop and cut through the clutter giving your exhibit a whole new look. This glowing signage can also act as an additional attract to your exhibit, and make your message shine.
Perception is everything
As you can see, it’s all about how attendees perceive your exhibit; is it the same old thing year after year, or is there always something new and different? Sturdy, lightweight structures are important—in fact, we insist on supplying that to all of our clients—but the fabric and signage is equally, if not MORE important, to ensure that your overall exhibit remains fresh, clean, and memorable.
